Answer me this,
Have you ever been born?
Even once?

If so, you know the power
of what life creates first hand.

You once floated in your mother’s womb.
Before you emerged screaming,
unable to crawl or hold your head
up. You couldn’t talk, understand language,
make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich
or play ping pong.

From just a few cells, You’ve grown
into who you are.  This isn’t fantasy.
This is you.

And yet, like me, I’m willing to bet that
when you look at the problems
you perceive in your own life
and around the world, you often forget
you are full of vast powers
and capable of breathtaking expansion.

Oh, but what to do with this knowledge?

For years, I largely ignored it.
I looked at the world, my problems
and my disability, shook my head and told myself,
“If I’m lucky things are going to stay the same.
But in reality, things are probably
going to get much, much worse!”

Have you had similar thoughts?
This type of thinking spreads faster
than COVID-19.
Anyone is susceptible.

Tragically, such thoughts can blind you
to your own power
and the power the world possesses
to right itself.

Parents don’t look at their 5 month old
and say, “She’ll never change.”

They know she will, for life grows humans.
So, they busy themselves
teaching their baby
what she needs to know to grow up
confident and healthy.

Though you may not see it clearly,
you still have the miracle of growth within you.
Busy yourself with learning and experiencing
all you need to flourish.

And have faith that all the bad news out there
simply reflects a world discovering
how to do the same.
